If you are a beginner and you have full control of your sewing machine these are the classes for you. You've taken the machine class and you're ready for some real sewing.
There are quite a few beginner projects to start with,
projects that will help you strengthen your new skills and grow your confidence.
Start with projects that help you make straighter seams, control the fabric and trouble shoot your machine.

The Machine class
Classes include simple projects

SMALL PRINT: If you own a machine and you want to learn to use it, yes bring it and everything that came with it to this class.
It's best to learn on your machine. If you have not yet purchased a machine this class will help you understand what sewing machine features will be best for you
At the beginning. Master the sewing machine and get comfortable with the process then you'll be on the road to the wonderful world of sewing. Learning everything from winding a bobbin, trouble shooting. You'll do more than test drive a machine. You'll learn to control your speed, make proper seams and sharp corners and much more.
It's just for the Absolute Beginner. Absolutely no experience needed.

OPTION ONE: 1.5 hours of hands on instruction $28.00 includes supplies
What to bring: Just you and your machine (machine not required)
OPTION TWO: 3 hour session $56.00 some supplies provided and is a much fuller experience allowing you to start and possibly finish your first project.
What to bring to the 3 hour class?
1/2 yard of fabric for the outside and
1/2 yard fabric for the inside of your sewing tote. Nothing else.
THE SEWING MACHINE CLASS
There is a tight relationship between the sewing machine and a serger.
A serger in no way replaces the sewing machine, it does however enhance the final product.
Learn to serge and get the most out of your serger. Serging and overlocking are terms used interchangeably. Learn to thread and fully understand it's parts and functions.
-Threading and troubleshooting your serger

-Learn to dial up a variety of stitch types and when to apply them

Decoding a pattern is more then understanding the lingo. Discover what the pattern is really trying to tell you. We decipher the markings, layout and cut your fabric.
We won't abandon you after cutting out the fabric we'll walk you all the way to the finishing touches if you prefer
Sewing techniques: includes understanding outside envelope, how to choose supplies, inside instructions, tissue pattern, marking, layout, cutting and sewing and construction.
You will be armed and ready when you visit the fabric store!

Depending on your pattern choice, a project may take a few classes to complete

Must demonstration full sewing machine knowledge and have sewn a few simple projects in order to take this class. This is not a learn the machine class
